2025 Certified Peer Development Program (CRPA-P)
Free CDRC supports the Healthy Capital District initiative to expand throughout the capital region the CPRA-P Training Classes. The Certified Peer Support Advocates is a non-clinical services position that include outreach, engaging individuals who are considering entering treatment, by reinforcing current patient’s engagement while in treatment, and to connect patients to a community-based recovery support consistent with treatment/recovery and discharge plans. CRPA may provide the following services by utilizing their recovery and experience. · Developing recovery plans · Raising awareness of existing and other support services · Modeling coping skills · Assisting with applying for social/ governmental benefits · Accompanying clients to medical appointments · Non-clinical crisis support, especially after periods of hospitalizations or incarceration · Working with participants to identify strengths · Linking participants to formal recovery support · Educating program participants about various models of recovery · Travel training – to use public transportation independently · Engaging an individual to consider entering an addiction treatment program *Information provided by oasas.ny.gov
